Live Inbox & Human Handover

Monitor AI conversations in real-time, manage tickets, and step in when human empathy and judgment are required.

Page Overview

The Verabase Live Inbox is designed to give support agents a complete, real-time interface for managing customer interactions. The workspace is divided into a three-column layout, providing an efficient workflow from navigation to detail lookup.

Three-Column Layout

The workspace consists of three panels:

Verabase Unified Inbox 3-Column Layout
The unified three-column Live Inbox workspace displaying the sidebar, chat list, and active conversation panel.

Header Toolbar

At the top of the chat list and details panel sits the header toolbar, which provides access to critical actions:

Verabase Export Transactions Button
The top toolbar options inside the inbox, including the Excel export button for chat transaction reports.
Verabase Live Chat Monitor Badge
The Live Chat Monitor indicator located at the top of the chat list panel, displaying real-time monitoring counts.
Verabase Search Field in Live Inbox
The search filter input located above the chat list allows agents to search across active conversations instantly.

The sidebar provides access to the 7 main navigation views:

All Chats
My Assignment
Queued
Unassigned
Supervised
Archive
Vault
Verabase Expanded Sidebar Navigation
The fully expanded navigation sidebar menu showing all primary folders, ticketing queues, and settings views.

AI Agents Section

Directly beneath the primary views in the sidebar is the AI Agents section, listing the autonomous agents currently active on your channel:

Verabase Active AI Agents Section

Admin Conversation History

Administrators can access the historical log of all agent conversations directly at the admin URL path: /admin/agent-conversation-history.

Badges and Header Elements

Automation

Verabase balances AI speed with human empathy through structured automation rules and seamless agent handoffs.

Triggered Responses

AI agents handle standard inquiries automatically by querying the Self-Healing Knowledge Base and formulating verified responses. They will continuously monitor active conversation parameters and draft custom answers.

AI-to-Human Handoff Logic

When a customer request falls outside the AI's capabilities, the conversation escalates to a human operator. The AI moves the conversation to the Unassigned queue automatically.

QA Verification Required: The claim that the AI escalates automatically when a safety rule fires or when a customer asks for a human needs testing with an active escalation scenario before it can be confirmed as accurate.

To claim the escalated conversation, you select it and click the action button to assign it to yourself.

QA Verification Required: The live button name for claiming a chat needs verification. No button with the exact label "Take over" could be verified without live chat data.

Once a conversation is active, agents can utilize private internal notes to coordinate during handoffs or reassignments. These notes are entirely private and only visible to the internal support team.

QA Verification Required: The private internal notes input UI is not visible in the empty state. This feature requires verification with an active chat before publishing.

Terminate Session Button

To conclude a conversation and end the active chat thread, agents can use the dedicated Terminate Session button located directly within the conversation workspace. This terminates the session and returns the details panel to the empty state.

Verabase Terminate Session Button
The Terminate Session button located inside the conversation workspace header panel ends the active chat thread.

Tickets

For support cases that require follow-up work or asynchronous communication, Verabase manages tickets alongside live chats. The sidebar includes a dedicated Tickets section featuring four filters:

Verabase Tickets All Tickets View
The stream panel for all open and historical tickets in the system, shown in its default empty state.

CRM

CRM Side Panel Display

When a conversation is active, the details panel includes a CRM sidebar. If a customer is found, the CRM side panel displays the customer's contact record, open deals, and past ticket histories automatically.

QA Verification Required: The live customer-record side panel view is currently untested and needs verification with live customer data. It shows the "Select a Chat" empty state when no conversation is open.
Verabase CRM Side Panel Display
The open CRM side panel in the conversation workspace, displaying synced contact info, deal records, and ticket histories.

CRM Provider Configuration

QA Verification Required: The CRM configuration UI for HubSpot, Salesforce, and Pipedrive could not be located in the Settings view. The CRM side panel appears when a chat is selected, but the connection settings need verification.

Status Controls

Agents manage their presence states using the status toggle at the top of the sidebar. Verabase supports three availability states, each with its own visual indicator:

Verabase Status Toggle: Online
The status indicator toggle at the top of the sidebar displayed in the Online & Ready green state.
Verabase Status Toggle: Away
The availability status toggle can be set to Away / On Break, marked by an orange status indicator.
Verabase Status Toggle: Offline
Setting the agent status toggle to Go Offline pauses the routing of new assignments to your queue.

Admin Sections

Admin and supervisor queues enable team managers to oversee support quality and routing performance. The inbox contains individual sections for each queue type:
