Automation triggers

Ticket created

When a new Zendesk ticket arrives, Verabase checks your knowledge base and suggests an AI-drafted response to the assigned agent.

Ticket status changed

When a ticket moves to Pending or Solved, Verabase can trigger follow-up automations like sending a satisfaction survey link.

Organization created

When a new organization is added in Zendesk, Verabase makes the organization data available to all AI agents for context.

Setup guide

Estimated setup time: ~7 minutes. Prerequisites: Zendesk Suite Team plan or higher. Admin access required for API token generation and webhook setup.
1

Create an API token in Zendesk

In Zendesk Admin Center, go to Apps and integrations → APIs → Zendesk API. Enable Token Access, then click Add API token. Copy the generated token.

2

Note your Zendesk subdomain

Your Zendesk subdomain is the part before .zendesk.com in your URL (e.g. if your URL is acme.zendesk.com, your subdomain is acme).

3

Add Zendesk in Verabase

In Verabase, go to Settings → Integrations → Add Zendesk. Enter your subdomain, admin email, and the API token you just generated.

4

Select ticket views to sync

Choose which Zendesk views or groups should be accessible. You can limit AI agent access to specific ticket categories or support tiers.

5

Enable webhook notifications

Verabase creates an HTTP target and trigger in Zendesk for real-time ticket updates. Approve the webhook when prompted in Zendesk Admin Center.

Use cases

AI-assisted ticket resolution

When a Zendesk agent opens a ticket, a Verabase side panel shows the most relevant knowledge base articles and an AI-drafted response. The agent can review, edit, and send it — cutting average response time in half.

Deflection before ticket creation

Embed the Verabase widget on your Zendesk Help Center. When a customer starts typing a question, the AI suggests answers from your knowledge base before they submit a ticket.

Ticket pattern analysis

Verabase analyzes incoming Zendesk tickets to identify recurring questions that don't have knowledge base articles. These appear as knowledge gaps in your dashboard, with AI-drafted articles ready for approval.

Frequently asked questions

Does this replace the Zendesk AI add-on?
Verabase complements Zendesk rather than replacing it. You keep your Zendesk workflow and gain Verabase's self-healing knowledge loop, visual RAG, and BYOK model on top.
Can I use this with Zendesk Guide (Help Center)?
Yes. Verabase can read your existing Zendesk Guide articles as a knowledge source, and you can embed the Verabase widget on your Help Center pages.
What authentication method is used?
Verabase uses API token authentication (email + token). OAuth is also supported for organizations with stricter security requirements.
