AI Critic
A secondary AI model that verifies every response generated by the primary model, checking it against source documents to block hallucinations before they reach the customer.
Technical definition
The AI Critic is a verification layer in Verabase's response pipeline. After the primary LLM generates an answer using RAG-retrieved context, the Critic model receives both the answer and the source documents. It evaluates whether the answer is (a) supported by the sources, (b) contradicts any source, or (c) extends beyond what the sources state. Responses that fail verification are replaced with a configurable fallback.
How Verabase uses AI Critic
The AI Critic is a core differentiator in Verabase. Unlike most AI chatbots that rely on prompt engineering alone to reduce hallucinations, Verabase adds a structural verification step. The Critic runs on every response, regardless of confidence score. Under Agent Settings, you can configure the Critic's strictness level (Strict, Standard, or Lenient) and customize the fallback message shown when a response is blocked.
Why it matters for support teams
Prompt-based hallucination prevention is unreliable — it works most of the time but fails unpredictably. A structural verification layer catches the failures that prompt engineering misses. For enterprise deployments where a single wrong answer has real consequences (medical advice, financial information, legal guidance), the AI Critic provides an auditable safety net.

How Verabase Handles Self-Healing Knowledge
The standard industry approach relies on support agents manually flagging stale content and technical writers updating documentation weeks later. Verabase completely upends this model through an autonomous AI platform that identifies knowledge gaps the moment an AI agent encounters a question it cannot answer.
Rather than requiring manual intervention, our visual RAG engine drafts a proposed fix. It analyzes the context of the user's question, reviews your existing knowledge base for conflicts, and creates a clear, structured article or snippet. All you need to do is click 'Approve'. This ensures your AI agents continually get smarter over time without adding to your support team's workload.
Security First Architecture
Many legacy platforms bolt AI onto their existing infrastructure, creating potential data leaks between tenants or exposing sensitive internal documents to end-users. Verabase is built from the ground up with a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) architecture, enterprise-grade access controls, and strict semantic boundaries. This means your private engineering documents never accidentally leak into customer-facing agent responses.
